So much fun!
Great game - the animations are super sweet, my daughter loves it. Definitely useful for learning early-level phonemes and spelling out words.

Welcome to The Lettervan!
The Lettervan is a game developed for iOS and Android, designed for children in the early stages of literacy. Its goal is simple: to entertainingly illustrate the link between speech sounds and words, thus helping children crack the reading code.
The Lettervan is a full version game - No subscriptions, no ads, and no payments within the app.
The Lettervan supports both British and American English, and all words are spelled phonetically, which is perfect for those who have just begun learning to read and write.
Players listen to speech sounds and spell words to navigate past thorny vines, ominous clouds, and hungry monsters!
The idea behind The Lettervan
The app has been developed in collaboration with speech-language therapists, aiming to help children recognize that words consist of speech sounds. The ability to determine which sounds are present in a word is linked to skills in pronunciation, reading, and spelling.
Rickard Paulsson, the creator of The Lettervan, is a trained speech-language therapist and game developer. The idea for the app came about when he got to know his stepdaughter, who had just learned the sounds of the letters but couldn't yet blend them into words. He began working on an educational app that clarifies the connection between speech sounds and words - with the goal that his stepdaughter would see it as a fun game, without pressure to perform.
Unlike many other educational apps, there is no voice commenting on the child's performance in The Lettervan. Instead, the focus is on the cute animals striving to reach the end of the levels to discover new words!
